Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864 – 1901) was a French painter and poster artist.  He pursued painting as a youth. In 1884, he joined the Atelier Cormon in Paris. where he met Vincent van Gogh. Already by the age of twenty-two, he had his own atelier in the Montmartre area of Paris. He became highly famed for his spectacular posters created for the opening of Moulin Rouge 1890 and other prints and posters illustrated in the Art Nouveau style. Toulouse-Lautrec loved the Parisian night life and painted it with passion.
